Hello, my name is Mikki Johnson (she/her{s})

IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist & Yoga Teacher E-RYT®500

I live in Minneapolis, MN, with my family. My husband and I, collectively, have five kids: four adults and one teen. You will find me in nature or trying something new when not spending time with my family. I love to walk, hike, boat, travel, paint, and obviously yoga.

I have been teaching and practicing yoga for over 24 years. Yoga has given me a feeling different than anything I had felt before. My practice gives me clarity, support, and a sense of calm. I practice and study in the lineage of Viniyoga. I am guided by my primary teacher and mentor Dolphi Wertenbaker, MD, C-IAYT, who was a long-time student of TKV Desikachar.

My specialty is mental health, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and eating disorders. I also teach athletes mental focus, clarity, concentration, and lowering competition anxieties.

Why ananda? (actually, ānanda) It means joy - it is my middle name. I hope I can bring some joy your way!

“Whatever is in the practice, it will leave a residue and show up in life. In that way, yoga is a protection.”
